I am very sorry to hear about this... (please read my blog I was also abused for 7 years by my exhusband)

I live in Portland, Oregon and I know they have a dental van around here plus a couple of other resources for free dental vouchers. I found out through FISH emergency services... not sure what they have that is comporable in Eugene but there must be something!

If you ever need a friend who understands what you've been through please feel free to message me. I lived in Eugene for a while and may be moving back that way soon as well.

Sense my last post i've impowered myself in the following ways

1. Left a 10 year very abusive relationship

2. Spent the last 2 years rebuilding a life for the kids and I.

3. Been working on my recovery

I guess its takin alot out of me.  Today I went to see the dentist i could see under the state's standard dental plan. I was hoping there was something he could do about all the teeth my abuser broke out....they now hurt..... He laughed and said "how do you eat? Yor insurance only covers 1 tooth today and it must be pulled.  i like extractions so if you dont care that you wont be able to eat, and you have no plan for them i'll pull all 5."  Tears came to my eyes as he walked out of the room and left me there to make a decition.  The dental assistent says to me " Hey you know he has lots of practice hahaha... your lucky he offered that to you.  He loves pulling teeth. hahaha..."  i told her not today, I'm not comfortable getting my teeth pulled out by a dentist that hasnt even looked in my mouth to see if he could recomend something different besides extraction... Come to find out that the standard dental for the state only covers extractions so they just pull ur teeth!!!!!!! SO WHAT...EATING IS ONLY FOR THE RICH!!!!

 TO ALL THE SURVIVORS OF ABUSE OUT THERE ..... I HOPE TO BRING BACK YOUR SMILES

And maybe just maybe one day we can look in the mirror or eat a piece of chocolate and not have any thing but goodness run through our minds... no reminders of the trauma left to see or feel....

The way to begin is to start talking and start fighting back. . . band together to create a program.
